Enchanted by the sweeping views of the Mayacamas Mountains and the growing wine community, Damaris Deere Ford (by this time, Landmark’s sole proprietor) moves the vineyard to its present site in the Sonoma Valley.

Overlook Chardonnay vineyard

Damaris Deere Ford turns her attention exclusively to producing chardonnay and creates the first vintage of our flagship wine Overlook Chardonnay.

World-renowned enologist Helen Turley

1993

Landmark deepens its commitment to chardonnay by hiring world-renowned enologist Helen Turley. The collaboration leads to Landmark’s signature style: whole cluster pressed grapes, fermentation by native yeast strains, and aging in French oak.

Named after the town in Illinois where John Deere set up his blacksmith shop, Grand Detour is released by Landmark as the inaugural vintage of and our first foray into pinot noir.

Landmark releases its first Overlook Pinot Noir. It’s the latest achievement for Greg Stach, a winemaker well known for creating some of California’s best single-vineyard pinot noirs.

Captivated by the historic landmark located in the Middle Reach of the Russian River Valley, Landmark Vineyards acquired the Hop Kiln Estate in 2016 and opened its second tasting room.

 Hop Kiln Estate Reserve Pinot Noir

2018

Two years after the Hop Kiln Estate joined the Landmark family, the inaugural vintage of our Hop Kiln Estate Reserve Pinot Noir was released. Made entirely of our finest estate fruit, only six barrels of this vintage were produced.
The Hop Kiln Estate Reserve Pinot Noir is a uniquely designed bottle with the historic Hop Kiln building etched in gold and a wax-dipped seal – a true collector’s edition.

Winemaking

Landmark uses the most time and labor-intensive techniques to produce our wines. Grapes are aged in French oak barrels, where naturally occurring wild yeasts ferment the juice. This creates complex, aromatic wines with deep, expressive flavors.

Kim Pasquali

Senior Manager, Direct-to-Consumer

Kim Pasquali joined Landmark Vineyards in 2015 as Trade Marketing Manager. She transitioned to the hospitality team in 2016, overseeing the Tasting Room, Wine Society and Hospitality. Kim graduated from the Sonoma State University Executive MBA program in July 2016. Sonoma County called to her and she is thrilled to now call wine country home.

Donna Carroll

Hospitality and Tasting Room Manager

Donna joined Landmark during her last semester of college in 2005 as a Tasting Room Associate, just before earning her BA in Psychology from Sonoma State University. She discovered how much she enjoys sharing her love of wine with others and never left! In 2007 she was promoted to Tasting Room Manager, a position she held until 2012 when she stepped into her current role as Hospitality Manager, overseeing accommodations, weddings, and private events.
