2021 / Chardonnay
Ideally situated on the western edge of the Santa Rosa Plain, the Lorenzo Vineyard is the coldest chardonnay vineyard site from which Landmark sources grapes. As one of the earliest chardonnay plantings in the esteemed Russian River Valley, this vineyard’s location, in combination with the age of the vines, allow the fruit to fully ripen at a slow pace, profiting from that coveted “hang time.” Due to these factors, the grapes retain the natural acidity, fruit character, and elegant structure for which the Lorenzo Chardonnay is known.

Straw color with layered aromas of ripe citrus, chamomile, and caramel. The palate shows beautiful balance with a cascade of citrus – lime, Meyer lemon, and ripe kumquat. Richness builds in the midpalate with Bartlett pear and lemon curd followed by herbal and floral notes. The complex finish shows notes of ripe pear, subtle butterscotch, and toasted hazelnut.
The 2021 Lorenzo Chardonnay exhibits a complex balance between freshness and richness that is a great match for either seared sea scallops in a lemon brown-butter sauce, lemon and-herb roast chicken, or Saint-André triple crème cheese with citrus marmalade.
