2021 / Pinot Noir
Situated in the prestigious Santa Lucia Highlands appellation of Monterey County, this remarkable vineyard source is planted on a bench that lies approximately 300 feet above the valley floor. Enjoying an eastern exposure and the daily maritime influence of fog and brisk sea breezes from the Monterey Bay defines this as a cool climate region. The resulting long growing season, slow fruit maturation, and harvesting at ideal ripeness allows Landmark to craft a wine of exceptional balance, structure, and quality.

Rich red color with complex aromas of red currant, strawberry, violet flower, cedar, and anise on the nose. On the palate, the entry is nuanced with cranberry, red cherry, mushroom, and vanilla, with anise appearing on the midpalate along with finely textured medium tannins and fresh, balanced acidity. The finish is long with red berry, exotic spice, and integrated oak.
The 2021 Escolle Road Pinot Noir shows a depth of flavor that pairs well with poultry, such as a wine-and-spice-marinated grilled chicken with farm farro salad, or seared duck breast served alongside cranberry jus and almond rice pilaf.
